Aegibong Peace Ecopark is a prominent peace and security tourist site located in Ganghwa County, Incheon, near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Situated at the confluence of the Han River and Imjin River, it is one of the few places in South Korea where you can see North Korean territory with the naked eye.
Chojijin is a coastal fortress built in 1655 during the Joseon Dynasty to protect against foreign invasions via the western sea. It served as a key military base defending the mouth of the Han River and Ganghwa Strait.
The Goryeo Palace Site marks the location of the royal palace used during the Goryeo Dynasty’s temporary capital relocation to Ganghwa Island from 1232 to 1270, when the kingdom fled from Mongol invasions.
Jeondeungsa Temple is one of Korea’s oldest Buddhist temples, believed to have been founded in 381 AD during the Goguryeo Kingdom. It sits peacefully within the Jeongjoksanseong Fortress, surrounded by nature and history.
