These eels hide in deep waters during the day and come out to feed at night, with the largest reaching up to 2 meters in length and weighing 20 kg. As Cheonjiyeon Waterfall marks the northern limit of the marbled eel's habitat, it has been designated Natural Monument No. 27. This makes Cheonjiyeon Waterfall a "treasure trove of natural monuments."
