Itinerary
Cable Car to Gwongeumseong: Skip the grueling hike and glide up to 700 meters in just 10 minutes. At the top, explore the ruins of Gwongeumseong Fortress. You’ll stand on massive granite peaks with 360-degree views stretching from the mountain ridges to the East Sea. Local Mountain Lunch: Descend for a well-earned break. We’ll visit a nearby local favorite to enjoy authentic Sanchae Bibimbap (mountain vegetable rice) or crispy potato pancakes—the true taste of the Gangwon-do region.
Great Buddha & Sinheungsa Temple: Take a gentle forest stroll to the Great Unification Buddha, a 108-ton bronze landmark standing for peace. Finish at Sinheungsa Temple, one of the world's oldest Zen temples, where you can admire vibrant architecture tucked directly into the mountain valley.
Hongryeonam Hermitage: Experience the drama of a temple perched directly over the crashing waves. Walk the scenic coastal path to Hongryeonam, a miraculous hermitage built into the cliffside. Goddess of Mercy Statue: Ascend to the hilltop to stand before the Haesugwaneumsang. This towering 16-meter white granite statue is the icon of the East Sea. From here, you’ll enjoy the most famous view of the tour—a breathtaking panoramic mix of sacred architecture and endless blue horizon. Tea Time at the Temple Slow down with a complimentary cup of traditional hot tea at the temple’s tea house. It’s the perfect moment to reflect, chat with your guide, and enjoy the quiet sounds of temple bells and ocean breezes.
Naksan Beach: End your journey with your toes in the sand. Take a relaxing stroll along Naksan Beach, a beautiful 4km stretch of white sand and pine trees. It’s the ultimate way to breathe in the sea air before we begin our comfortable private drive back to Seoul.
