This production is based on the Korean bestselling novel “Almond,” which has been translated and published in 30 countries worldwide, selling over 1.5 million copies, and selected for the Japan Booksellers’ Award and Amazon’s “Book of the Month.” Upon its Korean premiere in 2022, it topped the reservation rankings as soon as ticket sales opened, proving both its artistic merit and commercial appeal. Sixteen-year-old Yoonjae has a small “almond” (amygdala) in his brain, making it difficult for him to feel emotions. On his 16th birthday, Christmas Eve, a sudden tragic accident takes the lives of his family in an instant, leaving him orphaned.
